On Monday, the Shiv Sena (UBT) poked fun at the Bharatiya Janata Party for supporting right-wing organisations' march against "love-jihad" and questioned the necessity of such a demonstration in light of the "so-called Hindutvavadi government controls over the Central Government and Maharashtra. The Uddhav Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena said in an editorial published in the party newspaper Saamana that the BJP always plays its "trump card" when it suffers shocks of defeat. The game of playing the Hindu-Muslim card has now started, it claimed.

Right-wing organisations organised a "Hindu Jan Akrosh Morcha" against "love jihad" on Sunday in Mumbai. They called for anti-conversion legislation as well as a crackdown on land grabs motivated by religion. Participants in the demonstration included the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the Bajrang Dal, and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). The Sakal Hindu Samaj-organized rally kicked off from Shivaji Park in Dadar, which is also the location of the Shiv Sena Bhavan, the party's UBT faction's administrative centre.

The state and the federal government both have so-called aggressive Hindutvadi governments. Then why is your Hindutva (those who dispersed the rally) in danger? Ramrajya and this state are a utopia for Hindus with Modi-Shah at the centre. This is what their (BJP supporters') people claim. So it is unexpected that the 'Aakrosh' morcha (rally) was still held,' it claimed.

The Saamana added that organising such a march would have made sense if the Muslim League had been in power at both the national level and in Maharashtra's All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) government. "There should be a strong rule if forced conversion or love jihad are issues. However, anytime elections are approaching, there is talk of "Hindutva being in danger" in states where the BJP is in power "It read.

It stated that if the "Aakrosh" morcha was only held for political purposes, that would be dishonest of Hindutva. In addition, it made fun of the BJP-run government in the national capital, claiming that awarding the Padma Vibhushan to "Maulana" Mulayam Singh, the late patriarch of the Samajwadi Party, is an "insult to the sacrifices of thousands of karsevaks of the Ram Mandir campaign."
