Past BMC Election Results

Past BMC election results

BMC elections have always been a major part of Maharashtra politics. Shivsena, Congress and BJP have always come out as the biggest parties in the past BMC elections. Shivsena has always ruled the BMC elections, and has secured the first position for past so many years. In 2012 BMC elections, Sena won 75 seats, in 2017, the count got even bigger as the party acquired 84 seats. In 2017 BMC elections, BJP secured the second position with 82 seats and since both the parties were allies, the victory was huge.

This time things may get different, as Shivsena and BJP are not together in an alliance, because of the clashes that happened between both the parties during the general elections. Shivsena is the ruling party of Maharashtra, and has alliance with NCP and INC. But Indian National Congress has also parted ways with Mahavikas Aghadi for the coming BMC elections 2022.
