BMC elections 2022 are due in February 2023. All the official dates are yet to be announced. The last BMC elections were held on February 21, 2017. And the results got declared on February 23.
The BMC elections are held after every five years. The BMC, also known as BrihanMumbai Municipal corporation or Mumbai Mahanagar Palika, is a local governing civic body.
This civic body is considered as India’s richest municipal corporation. The BMC elections are fought on 227 seats, the Mayor will get elected from the party who gets the majority of seats, which is 114 seats out of 227.
The current Mayor is Kishori Pednekar (Shivsena) and the post of deputy mayor is with Suhas Wadkar (Shivsena). Last BMC elections took place in February 21, 2017. The election results for these were announced on February 23, 2017. Thirteen political parties contested the BMC election in 2017.

Last BMC elections results 2017
The biggest party in BMC elections 2017 was Shivsena with 97 seats out of 227. The second position was secured by BJP with a total of 82 seats. INC ended up on third position with 31 seats, followed by NCP with 9 seats, SP with 6 seats and AIMIM and MNS with one seat each.
